Arab Rally for Entrepreneurship & Innovation

Final in Dubai Expo 2020

The Rally Competition was established in 2016 by the Arab Academy’s Entrepreneurship Center (The Arab League educational organization) for the purpose of impacting youth, entrepreneurs, and startups, not only in Egypt the Arab league headquarters but also to the Arab youth and the entire world.
In 2019 UAC and UNIDO ITPO AICEI Bahrain took the initiative to enhance the ecosystem towards promoting domestic investment boosting Entrepreneurship and Innovation with the goal of leveraging foreign direct investment through various stakeholders namely national Chambers in the Arab Region.
In this context, a partnership was developed between UAC, UNIDO ITPO ACIEI Bahrain and the Arab Academy (The Arab League educational organization) to organize the Arab Entrepreneurship and Innovation Rally This is where a great impact started, thousands of applicants applied for the Arab Rally competition, several match making and business development opportunities, and hundreds of thousands of dollars were granted to many young entrepreneurs from several countries from the Arab region, and what’s most importantly great exposure and showcasing to their startups in the Rally Finale in Bahrain (November 2019 during the World Entrepreneurs investment Forum and 18 th Arab Businessmen and Investors Conference.
The aim of the competition is to provide guidance, mentorship and investment opportunities to individuals and teams who are eager to follow their dreams and kick-off their business.

2019 Competition Winners

  • The first Arab Rally was held in November 2019 on a regional scale.
  • We have experienced a booming expansion where over 18 Arab countries participated, and it has became the largest entrepreneurship competition in the Arab region, with over 750 registered startup ideas.
  • The final round of the competition was held during the World Entrepreneurs Investment Forum, and the 18th Arab Businessmen and Investors Conference in Bahrain.
  • The top 3 ideas of the 18 finalists received awards with total cash prizes of $85,000.
  • The startups’ ideas were pitched in front of many attendees from the 18th Arab Businessmen and Investors Conference, and the Union of Arab Chambers; which led to many grants and support opportunities, with additional cash awards of $220,000.

The AAST Entrepreneurship Center was established by the Arab Academy for Science Technology & Maritime Transport in 2015 with the main focus of empowering the Arab youth to create a sustainable ecosystem in the Arab region & Africa. After a couple of years of continuous support to the academy community and seeing the returned benefit on the students & Egyptian ecosystem, the AAST Entrepreneurship Center started to go beyond the academy and launched several programs for the Arab youth in different staged of the startup maturity level. The center continues to support young entrepreneurs through their journey to become great business leaders.
